Guidance
Program
Overview
ICT
has a unique Guidance Program, which assists students in university
application and adjusting to independent life in Canada.
The
guidance counsellor helps students how to apply for universities. Almost
all the graduates were accepted by universities and many of them were
awarded scholarships.
This
Guidance Program is directed to all students of ICT. Its purpose is to assist students in preparing for, gathering
information on and the completion of the university application. The most
important aim
of our guidance program is to empower students to develop knowledge,
skills, and attitudes of become independent learners and caregivers for
themselves when they graduated from ICT, and into Canada, especially
Toronto.

Guidance Program - What We Do
|
|
Program
It is essential
for our guidance counselor to help students to develop an understanding
of effective relationships with their teachers and peers. Students in ICT
should be able to develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes needed to
make appropriate post-secondary decisions and to cope with the transition
from secondary school to post-secondary studies through the help of our
guidance program.
At
the beginning of each new semester, our guidance counselor will meet with
each student on an individual basis to establish a relationship and to
discuss educational, career, and personal goals. Our guidance counselor
is available at all times to provide information or to provide students in
ICT with the “how to find information” on various colleges,
universities, career opportunities as each student requires. He or she
will also serve as a liaison between various university and college
representatives and to arrange visits to ICT for information
meetings.
Our guidance counselor is more than happy
to provide assistance, when needed, in filling out the applications and to
ensure paperwork is correctly completed and sent out as required by each
student in ICT. Thorough follow up will be given, as needed to any
complications students might have with the application procedure. During
the school year, our guidance counselor will arrange to meet with student
to ensure O.S.S.D. requirements are met and to ensure students in ICT have
selected the required courses for the chosen program of study in
university while at the same time advise students on their options to
their chosen programs.
